Facebook back online after global outage

Social media addicts across Australia and Asia Pacific were left making unhappy emojis on Tuesday morning in the wake of a major Facebook outage.

Facebook Australia confirmed the local outage, blaming an unspecified technological problem, News.com.au reported. It went on: "Thanks for noticing - we're going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon". "How do I even talk to someone face to face!", one user posted.

Facebook suffered major technical issues on Tuesday which resulted in the platform being inaccessible to millions of users around the world. "We have now fixed the issue and apologize for any inconvenience caused". Here's a look at some of the tweets shared during the Facebook outage.

Aussie Outages page reports the social media giant went down about 11.16am, Gatton Star reports.

There were some loyal Twitter users who were happy with situation and preferred that Facebook stopped working altogether.

According to Downdetector, Facebook was having issues since 9.20am and as at 9.33am, there were 583 reports of outages lodged with the site.
