A Bloomberg report earlier this month revealed that Apple would announce updates to its MacBook Pro lineup at WWDC 2017 in June.

MacBook Air remains one of Apple's best seller's despite being a two year old system, it's also the cheapest in the MacBook line which might explain the popularity.

According to information obtained by French website, Consomac, Apple has registered new model numbers with the Eurasian Economic Commission.

Apple clearly wants customers to think of the 13-inch MacBook Pro as the true successor to the MacBook Air, which has nearly reached the end of its lifecycle.

If you are using 2011 MacBook Air and Late 2011 MacBook Pro, be warned: Apple is about to mark these two machines as obsolete, which means you will no longer be able to ask for a fix or support from the company for these computers.

The MacBook Pro slated to debut at the WWDC 2017 - which is on June 5 - is quite late in using the Kaby Lake technology.

First coming to the MacBook Pro upgrade, Apple has been tipped to update the laptop with Intel's Kaby Lake processor series, from the current SkyLake processors. This includes the MacBook Pro, which would be given a processor boost and an upgrade on memory.

"On Friday, June 30, 2017, the products listed below will be classified as either vintage or obsolete in Asia-Pacific, Canada, Europe, Japan, Latin America, the United States, and Apple Retail Stores", the memo reads, while providing a direct link to Apple's continuously-updated list of vintage and/or out-of-coverage products.

MacBook Pro stock dwindles as the 2017 MacBook Pro release date nears.

Meanwhile, as Digital Trends pointed out, it might be a mismatch to compare the weights of the MacBook Pro 13 and the new Surface Pro as the latter's keyboard is "partially made of fabric" while considering that the MacBook Pro 13 has a clamshell laptop design.
