Naked man damaged patrol auto, deputies say

Dash-cam video shows a Florida man walking down the highway naked after he fled the scene of a crash, officials said.

The deputy arrested Humphries and placed him in the back of the patrol vehicle. Humphries then walked to the front of the deputy's patrol auto and tried to open the driver's door, which was locked.

18-year-old Andrew Humphries was stopped by an officer along South U.S. Highway 441.

Concerned for the man's well-being, a deputy started talking to him.

At approximately 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, deputies were responding to a vehicle accident when they learned that the driver of one of the vehicles walked away.

A man who was discovered walking nude along a Marion County highway is accused of urinating on a vehicle and damaging the inside of a deputy cruiser.

Humphries is charged with criminal mischief with property damage of $1,000 or more and criminal mischief.

Authorities say a Florida man got out of his vehicle after a crash, stripped off his clothes, walked away from the scene and then damaged a door of the responding deputy's patrol auto. While sitting there Humphries began to aggressively kick the door, causing $1,000 in damage according to authorities.

Due to his erratic behavior, Humphries was placed in handcuffs and put in the back of the deputy's patrol vehicle.

The driver was cited by the Florida Highway Patrol for careless driving.

Deputies said FHP is investigating the crash Humphries was originally involved in.
