Andrea Constand Testifies Bill Cosby Drugged And Molested Her

Posted June 23, 2017

On Tuesday, the second day of Bill Cosby's sexual assault trial, Andrea Constand gave her first public testimony on allegations that Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her in 2004. "And I felt him take my hand and place it on his penis and move it back and forth", Constand testified, according to Billy Penn.

"I was frozen. I was very limp so I wasn't able to fight in any way". She said on Tuesday that she felt her continued friendship with Cosby after the alleged assault was important to the school's athletic department.

Cosby, 79, has pleaded not guilty to aggravated indecent assault on Constand. Constand refused to yield the point, saying his conduct - touching her thigh and her trousers zipper - had been "suggestive" but not sexual.

Constand, an athletic 6-footer with dark curly hair, was calm and collected as she testified, looking at the jury as she began describing the assault.

But then the full effect of the pills struck the former college hoops star and she began to feel drowsy.

"I said I trust you", she recalled saying at the time.

"I don't really remember how dim the lights were, but I did have to eat my dinner", Constand said. Constand's lawyer has disputed that since Constand was dating a woman at the time. In one, a Cosby agent talked to Constand about an offer to fly her family down to Florida for a show.

Almost 60 other women have made historical allegations against the actor, but Ms Constand's case is the only one that has made it to trial. The witness had told police that before the alleged assault, there had been no sexual contact between her and Cosby.

Constand, who is from the Toronto area, met Cosby while working for the women's basketball team at Temple, Cosby's alma mater. She said they were introduced through a well-respected donor of Temple University sports. He invited her to dine with him at his home.

"Why Camille is not here is something only Camille can comment on and she has chosen not to do so", Allred said.

Cosby says he had a romantic relationship with her. "I just want to know what you gave me", Constand testified, according to People magazine.

Agrusa contended that the advances Cosby made on Constand on two occasions - touching her thigh one time, and attempting to unbutton her trousers and pull down her zipper another - signaled his romantic interest.

Ms Constand, 44, was director of basketball operations at Temple University, where Mr Cosby served on the board of trustees at the time of the alleged assault in January 2004.

Shortly thereafter, Constand said, she became dizzy and was feeling disoriented.

"I said, 'I see two of you and I'm slurring my words, '" she claimed in court. "I just wanted to go home". Put them down. They'll take the edge off.'.

Miller testified that no transcript was made of the deposition itself, an agreement he struck with Johnson's lawyer because of the sensitivity of her claims. Prior to the start of proceedings, she approached the defense table, where Cosby rose and warmly greeted her.

On Tuesday, Johnson's mother, Pattrice Sewell, bolstered her daughter's story. Mason said that he was called to her house months after the alleged incident occurred.

When she awoke in the morning, Mr Cosby gave her tea and a muffin.

"I said what are they - are they natural?" The district attorney at the time reportedly declined to do so, citing a lack of evidence.

"We stand with Andrea Constand and are in awe of her courage", said Lisa Bloom, an attorney for Janice Dickinson, another of Cosby's accusers.

"Tell the truth", Constand said.
