Shia LaBeouf Somehow Got Arrested for Public Drunkenness in Savannah, Georgia

The 31-year-old Transformers actor was taken into police custody in Savannah, Georgia early Saturday morning and booked for disorderly conduct, obstruction and public drunkenness, according to booking records.

Officers say that Shia LaBeouf walked up to a police officer and random bystander in the wee hours of Saturday morning in an attempt to score a cigarette. He became disorderly, using profanities and vulgar language, when he wasn't given a cigarette, it said. "He was told to leave the area and refused, becoming aggressive toward the officer", Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

Actor Shia LaBeouf has been arrested after acting aggressively towards a police officer.

LaBeouf is filming The Peanut Butter Falcon with Dakota Johnson and Bruce Dern.

In 2011, LaBeouf was taken into police custody after an altercation with another patron at a bar in Sherman Oaks, California that ended with him being punched in the face. All the charges are misdemeanors.

LaBeouf, who besides acting has been involved in publicity-garnering performance art ventures, has had three other arrests in recent years. He was arrested inside a hotel lobby shortly afterwards around 4 a.m. He was arrested for drunk driving in West Hollywood in 2008 for drunk driving.

"I have been incarcerated five times", Labeouf wrote in the 2015 book.

A request for comment from LaBeouf's rep was not immediately returned.
