This also looks to be a darker, sexier and bloodier affair than anything you'll find in the MCU - which again - is pretty much the only way to really do a Black Widow-style movie up right. On Thursday, 20th Century Fox dropped the trailer for J.Law's femme fatale flick, Red Sparrow. YAS.

Along with Lawrence, Red Sparrow stars Jeremy Irons, Joel Edgerton, Charlotte Rampling and Mary-Louise Parker.

Following Lawrence as Dominika Egorova, a prima ballerina who suffers a career-ending injury during the prime of her career, Red Sparrow tells the story of a vulnerable young girl who is manipulated into joining a secret Russian intelligence service called the Sparrow School. As we can assume from the first scene in the trailer, Lawrence's character seems apprehensive about her line of work.

Lawrence's character goes through the school's "perverse and sadistic" training process, the film's description reads, and becomes "the most risky Sparrow the program has ever produced".

The film was directed by Francis Lawrence, who worked with Lawrence in the past on several "Hunger Games" installments, working from a screenplay written by Justin Haythe.
