Ninety7 LOFT gives Google Home battery power

However, it looks like the accessory maker - Ninety7 has been hearing the woes of Google Home users and it launched a snap-on battery "LOFT" that make Google Home portable.

Google released its Google Home device in November.

According to reports, Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) will unveil a new smart speaker at a big event next month, which will be smaller, low priced, and compete with Amazon's Echo Dot.

Now, Ninety7 aims to bestow the same portable capabilities to the Google Home. It can offer up to 8 hours of usage on a single charge.

Adding a battery pack to the Google Home effectively turns it into a portable speaker with a bevvy of smart features, thanks to the on-board Google Assistant.

While you can do all sort of things with your Google Home like ask questions, set reminders, control your smart home or play music, the device still has to be plugged in while you do them. I suspect some of that is because Google carefully hid the Home's size with a taper, whereas the Loft continues to flare outward. You can now roam around your house with Google Home or any other place with Wi-Fi in range.

Besides LOFT, Ninety7 also unveiled the DOX this week - which is a similar accessory for the Amazon Echo Dot (2nd generation). The LOFT can be pre-ordered right now for $39.95; its standard pricing is $49.95. With LOFT, Google Home can easily be used as a portable Bluetooth speaker.

I know it might sound ridiculous, but I sometimes find myself yearning for a way to move my two Google Homes around. Ninety7 expects to start shipping both models in October. If yes, then will you be interested in buying LOFT for it?
