The Manchester teams are still dictating the pace in the Premier League as both sides secured varying degree of wins in their Saturday games.

With Kurt Zouma ineligible to face his parent club and Kevin Wimmer out injured, Stoke fielded a patched-up defence that included Glen Johnson as part of the back three. Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko came in for David Luiz, Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas following Chelsea's goalless draw with Arsenal.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has given an update on his French midfielder Tiémoué Bakayoko after the player was involved in a vehicle crash on Thursday.

Stoke enjoyed a good spell towards the end of the half with Mame Biram Diouf's overhead kick dropping over the bar and Fletcher had an effort blocked on 43 minutes.

Indeed, Mark Hughes has lost 16 times and conceded 47 goals as a Premier League manager in 25 meetings against the Blues - his worst record against any top-flight club. "I was pleased to see these performances from them and for sure these are two players with good prospects, they stay with us, we trust them and they have to continue in this way", Conte added.

"It was a good day, a good result for us".

"Pedro is fit for the game against Stoke on Saturday", said Conte.

Now, Antonio Conte has been delivering some injury news on the Belgian and it might well be music to their ears.

"I think the players that arrive have the quality to play here and the squad and the team are still strong. Now it's important to rest well and prepare for another game against Atletico Madrid". "Now we have to play three games and yes, there is the possibility to try to pick him for these games".

The Spain worldwide was brought in as a replacement for Costa, who was informed by Conte in June that he was free to leave the club and has this this week travelled to Madrid to finalise a return to Atletico Madrid.

Morata scored in the first minute of the encounter for Chelsea with a brilliant finish.
