Sylvester Stallone set to direct Michael B. Jordan in 'Creed 2'

Stallone has announced that he will be directing, producing and starring in the highly anticipated film Creed 2, starring Michael B. Jordan.

In September, Stallone shared a photo of a shirtless Jordan in the gym with the caption, "Getting stronger!"

The first film in the series, Creed, was directed by Ryan Coogler from a script he co-wrote with Aaron Covington. Ryan Coogler's directing made the first really stand out.

Sylvester Stallone has confirmed that he will direct Creed 2. Previous discussions for the next installment had the story potentially mirror Rocky IV, or even take a page from The Godfather Part II playbook and feature recurring flashbacks to Apollo Creed before his death. "There's a lot there." .

The film was a huge hit critically, and grossed $170 million worldwide on a reported $40 million budget, but also left audiences eager to see more of Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed.

Stallone won a Golden Globe for his performance as the aging Rocky Balboa in Creed, as well as receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

He has since teased the return of Ivan Drago, Rocky's Russian competitor in Rocky IV. "One more Round!" Stallone wrote.
