Unlocked HTC U11 Update to Oreo Rolling Out Today

Over the air updates typically roll out in stages, so it make take a couple of days for Oreo to hit your unlocked HTC U11.

The information regarding the software update came from the company's VP of Product Management Mo Versi via a Twitter post, last week. Those with an unlocked HTC U11 will be able to update their device to the latest major Android release, Oreo, starting today. It is not sure exactly when other HTC smartphones will get the OS version.

The Oreo update will escalate the U11 to the exclusive list of Android Oreo devices.

With Oreo on your phone, your world will be opened up to native Picture-in-Picture, notification dots, autofill, and much more. Besides, he also said that the Oreo update for HTC 10, U11 Life and Ultra will be rolled out soon.

Earlier this year, HTC confirmed that it will update the HTC U11 to Android 8.0 Oreo by the end of the year with rumors hinting that it's in final stages of development.

Users of HTC U11 will also enjoy the generic ability of the Android Oreo OS to limit the background activity that is generated through the least used applications.
