A teenager from Florida who went missing with a 27-year-old high school soccer coach last week was found safe more than 1,000 miles away in NY on Friday.
On Saturday, Frisina's parents, Scarlet and Ward Frisina, thanked law enforcement and the public for help finding their daughter. Her parents reported her missing on Sunday. Frisina has family in NY and Rodriguez has family in Canada and Pennsylvania, according to Columbia County Sheriff's Office public information officer Murray Smith. Late Friday night, New York State Police said he had been charged as a fugitive of justice and was arraigned in the town of Salina and remanded to Onondaga County.
Rian, who has been fired from from his position as head boys soccer coach at Fort White High School, was arrested.
Information from the Associated Press was used in this report. Rodriquez was taken into custody without incident and Frisina was detained. Her former soccer coach Rian Rodriguez, 27, is now in jail on a charge of interference with a child's custody.More news: Israeli Attacks Reported Near Damascus, Israeli Media Removes Story
During the family's statement, the girl held her father, Rodd Frisina, closely and nestled under his chin, eyes closed. But I absolutely believe that she was lied to and totally misled. Frisina told police that she left with Rian willingly and she was unharmed.
They were also spotted early Sunday evening at a pawn shop in Fayetteville, Hunter said. First Coast News was told he was sacked for not showing up to work.More news: 'Group Of Death' Has Argentina, Croatia, Nigeria, Iceland In 2018
