Mariah's family has been cooperating with investigators and additional charges could be filed in the case, authorities said.

The search was organized in connection with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The search for Mariah entered a fifth day Friday.

Since then, professional investigators and volunteers have fanned out across the woods near her home, neighbors have been asked to search their property and a dive team has searched a portion of Southwest Creek under U.S. Highway 17.

They were sent straight to the FBI's base in Quantico, Virginia, for testing on Wednesday afternoon. "We have spoken to many of them, but not everyone".

Kristy, who this week disabled her Facebook account after posting the missing person's appeal for her daughter, claimed that Mariah was taken by a stranger. Dozens had to be turned away.

Authorities in North Carolina have arrested a man in connection with the disappearance of a young girl and said they are determined to find the child's body.

Onslow County Sheriff Hans Miller said at a news conference that deputies are just as determined to bring the girl home as they were when it was still possible she was alive.

Woods was reported missing Monday. He said he doesn't believe his daughter was abducted.

'Someone just walked right up in there, grabbed the 3-year-old out of the bed and she didn't cry, she didn't scream? Alex Woods said. "Nobody heard anything?" Woods said her boyfriend, Kimrey, also checked on her around midnight. "Please, bring her back. She's my baby. She's my everything".
