LG G6 gets a taste of Android 8.0 Oreo beta in China

The company has still not revealed any details about the global roll out of Android 8.0 Oreo for its LG G6 users.

Ironically, the 5T, the newest smartphone launched by OnePlus doesn't have Android Oreo, yet, the OnePlus 3, 3T and 5 have already been updated to the latest version of the OS.

OnePlus, which recently released the OnePlus 5T, has received a lot of flak for missing self-imposed deadlines on major updates to OxygenOS, its custom Android skin.

A recent tweet posted by OnePlus Germany via TheAndroidSoul has also teased that the Android Oreo beta build will hit the OnePlus 5T soon. Other than these, the Oreo Android will improve the performance of the software on the mobile phone, which in proportionately enhance the battery life as well as the speed.

Then there is a new design for quick settings and lift up display.

The LG G6 was definitely one of the most underrated phones of 2017, but it looks like it's finally starting to get some Oreo love in the form of a beta that's being run in China.

The update also brings optimisations for Shelf and one can upload a photo through Shot on OnePlus. The Android 8.0 Oreo comes with a number of features including notification dots and Picture-in-Picture mode.
