Late-Night Hosts Are Campaigning for Trump's 'Most Dishonest & Corrupt Media Awards'

Subjects will cover Dishonesty and Bad Reporting in various categories from the Fake News Media.

On Sunday, Trump tweeted: "The Fake News Award, those going to the most corrupt and biased of the Mainstream Media, will be presented to the losers on Wednesday, January 17th, rather than this coming Monday".

The US President also indicated what kind of award categories the public can expect to see.

Trump last week tweeted that he would announce the recipients of the "media awards" Monday. The book raised questions about Trump's mental fitness, and in former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon said he thought the 2016 Trump Tower meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer was "treasonous". Maybe-maybe-there was a chance that we would, for at least a couple minutes, stop paying attention to Donald Trump. TIME corrected that story after a White House aide confirmed that the bust was still in the Oval Office.

After the interview, Trump tore into Tapper, referring to him as a "flunky".

I don't think this wins the president a single vote or advances his agenda a single inch. They call the show "monotonous ... liberal dogma", "a fake news show" and "political propaganda disguised as entertainment" respectively.

Mr Trump's awards have been met with widespread mirth with U.S. talk show hosts offering themselves up for consideration for the awards.

Stephen Colbert has purchased a billboard in Times Square to capitalize on the unique event by a president.
