The 2014 movie explores the lives of four vampires named Deacon, Viago, Petyr, and Vladislav who all live in the same household in the city of Wellington. Waititi and Clement, the writers, directors and stars of the original film, will serve as executive producers.
FX's What We Do in the Shadows reboot also signed in a new cast for the pilot. Additionally, Waititi (who recently directed Thor: Ragnarok) will act as director, while Clement will write the show.More news: Chelsea Agree Potential Move For Former City Striker
Clement and Waititi will executive produce alongside franchise newcomers Scott Rudin (The Night Of, The Newsroom), Paul Simms (Flight of the Conchords, Atlanta) and Scott Rudin Productions' Garrett Basch and Eli Bush.More news: Don't miss the incredible rare 'super blue blood moon' eclipse
In addition to the FX pilot, the duo is still planning other projects within the Shadows universe. Berry plays a comically stupid vampire named Lazslo, and Demetriou steps into the shoes of the "badass" Nadja.
Meanwhile, We're Wolves, the film sequel to What We Do in the Shadows, is also in the works - ETA TBA. However, when he spoke about the long-rumored project a year ago, Waititi suggested that an idea was to essentially do a TV show version of the film but set it in the United States.More news: Sam's Clubs closing nationwide: List of closing locations
At the moment the show has only been greenlit for a pilot at FX, but all going well, we should see an entire mockumentary series on our screens as early as next year. They constantly squabble over minor things like household chores.
