As the ties between TDP and BJP appear to be strained over the centre's allocation of funds to Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has backed Andhra Pradesh state government saying she would support any state which was deprived of funds, similar to West Bengal. The TDP has 15 MPs in Lok Sabha. "We will need to wait at least a month to assess if its so-called farm friendly measures are effective on the ground and whether it succeeds in putting a stop to farmer suicides in Maharashtra", he said.

Though his critics say the TDP is just enacting a drama with regard to continuing the alliance with the BJP because he is scared of cases, a section of analysts say Naidu is definitely unhappy with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for neglecting AP, but he is of the view that it would be politically disastrous for him if he withdraws from the NDA immediately. The BJP has not said anything about not wanting an alliance. On Monday, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh had claimed that Upendra Kushwaha-led Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) and Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) were in talks with his party. "We MPs are ready to resign, but we are bound by the Chief Minister's decision", said Pandula Ravindra Babu TDP MP Amalapuram told ANI. "We never said (about snapping ties).it's all speculation", he had said following a meeting of top party leaders. Naidu also reportedly expressed "serious displeasure" over the Union and wondered why the Centre ignored the state. "At the time of the state bifurcation, I was the only one who demanded equal treatment to both the states".
