Instant Pot expands cooker recall

Double Insight, manufacturer of the Instant Pot, the country's most popular pressure cooker, has issued a voluntary recall for its Gem 65 8-in-1 Multicooker, citing "customer reports of the product overheating, resulting in localized damage to the underside of the product".

Since then, the company received 107 reports of the multi-cooker overheating. The batchcode can be found on the rating label on the bottom of the product.

The Instant Pot model can be programmed for roasting, baking, cooking, stewing, slow-cooking or food warming.

To see if your Instant Pot is part of the recall, turn it over and look at the code in the lower right corner of the label on the bottom.

The Gem 65 model 8-in-1 multicooker was sold only at Walmart.

Owners should stop using them immediately and return them to Walmart for a free replacement.
