Mobile Version Announced with Cross-Platform Play with Nearly All Other Versions

Posted March 10, 2018

With literally billions of potential players to be found exclusively on such mobile devices, Fortnite could help pave the way for other major 3D games to make the leap to a mobile market that is often unjustly seen as an indie-and-puzzle game backwater.

The mobile version of the game will allow players to battle against console and computer players.

Fortnite Battle Royale is not the only battle royale game heading to mobile. "Bluetooth controller support is coming later". If PUBG doesn't make the necessary changes to keep up, its game will remain restricted to the hardcore PC gaming enthusiasts who helped propel it to the forefront of the online scene previous year, while Fortnite becomes the vastly more popular mainstream title. There's now no word as to whether or not Xbox One will eventually be included in the mix. Also, if you have any thoughts on Fortnite, or have any expectations from the forthcoming mobile iterations, feel free to sound them off in the comments section below!

Developers behind the hugely popular "Fortnite" video game are soon releasing an iOS version of the game for Apple mobile devices like iPhones, iPads, and iPods.

Whether you're on a phone or a tablet, Epic has said this will be the "same 100-player game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac". Epic tends to update Fortnite on a weekly basis, and there's alsways something getting changes, some newly-introduced items, and limited-time game modes. The invite event will begin on Monday, March 12, and everyone can sign, for which soon after will receive an invite on their Email. Support for Android will be coming in the next few months.

A mobile version of Fortnite felt somewhat inevitable, but surprisingly, mobile players will be able to compete against PS4, PC and Mac players via Cross Play. "This means players across devices can squad up with friends and play together".

Emails containing a download link for the game will start rolling out shortly after.

So, the biggest question from the insanely huge Fortnite fanbase is "when will it be available for iOS and Android?" and we've got some bad news for you. Fortnite beat PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds to consoles and is available on both PS4 and Xbox One so that may have had a factor in the success so far.
