Muhammad Wilkerson finishes visit with Packers, will visit other teams

Posted March 10, 2018's Ian Rapoport reports free agent DE Muhammad Wilkerson will visit the Saints after leaving his Packers visit without a contract. Wilkerson will have to prove to Green Bay that his final season with NY was a one-off season built on mounting frustration, and not a sign of future problems from him.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News appeared on WFAN's "Boomer & Gio" show Friday morning to discuss a tweet he sent Thursday night in which he said Wilkerson shouldn't play in New Orleans because he has a problem with alcohol.

"It's not personal. I just know how people in the building, people close to him in his life feel about him".

"He has always written frightful things about my son".

"Where's your proof, Manish, that Muhammad is an alcoholic?" she told WFAN.

Look, Wilkerson, the 30th overall pick in the 2011 draft, is an intriguing prospect.

"He has never had a DWI, he's never admitted to being an alcoholic", Ka'idah said. But Wilkerson's mother was still going to defend him. You say he's out of shape.

Wilkerson, who was inactive for the final three games of the 2017 season due to chronic tardiness, was released by the Jets on February 28, two years into a five-year contract. The Jets released him, he's moved on, so just let it go.

The show's host, former Jets Pro Bowl QB Boomer Esiason, then asks Ka'idah whether she thinks her son has an issue with alcohol.

It'll be interesting to see whether Ka'idah indeed pursues a legal case against Mehta. "I think we should contact our attorneys", she said.

"He always has something negative to say about Muhammad". "You called him a fat slob".
