Ruling on a King's Bench petition filed with the high court last month, the justices issued a per curiam order Tuesday directing the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas to release Meek Mill, whose real name is Robert Williams, under conditions similar to the probation he had been serving until he was imprisoned a year ago. I just left from seeing him in jail with (Michael Rubin) and we were just told that he is being released. During a hearing last Monday, prosecutors overseeing Mill's case recommended granting the rapper a new trial based on what they say is Graham's history of corruption.

Mill issued a statement saying the past months had been "a nightmare", and thanked his many supporters and visitors, who included Rubin, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Democratic Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney.

Mill received public support from famous friends and fans in the music community throughout his incarceration, including JAY-Z and Beyonce, who made the call to "Free Meek" in their latest collab with DJ Khaled, "Top Off".

Now that Meek is freed, he said he will be working with his legal team to have his original conviction overturned and in the meantime, he hopes to be able to help other incarcerated minorities who have faced similar legal problems as him.

"When you know that you're innocent, it's tough to sit through something that you know you didn't do".

"I came because I feel Meek represents thousands of people in Pennsylvania and even tens of thousands around the country that have been victimized by abusive probationary and parole systems", said Sharpton.

"It's something that he didn't do". Now we'll see whether the Sixers can deliver a series-clinching victory as a welcome-home present to the Philly native. "So I doubt that that could happen and you're able to walk away from it".

Still, just as the rapper himself has done in recent interviews, Hart identified the silver lining of the fact that the situation has grown into a national debate. "When you have these probation violations that are turning into four to eight year sentences, I think that should be reviewed..."

Actor and comedian Kevin Hart was filmed visiting Meek Mill in prison on Tuesday. Mill was courtside as the 76ers defeated the Heat to move on to the second round of the National Basketball Association playoffs, and was given the honor of ringing the ceremonial Liberty Bell prior to tipoff.
