Fortnite's Season 4 comets have spared Tilted Towers

Posted May 02, 2018

A new cinematic trailer can now be watched online or upon booting up the game itself, and reveals that a barrage of comets have indeed crash landed onto the map, destroying familiar infrastructure and changing its very topography in serious ways. The crashed meteors transformed the area around their landing sites, changing maps, creating new locations, and providing glowing rocks.

Fortnite added a ton of new cosmetics to unlock in season 4, including seven fresh skins, five new emotes, and a new feature called Sprays (basically graffiti tags you can leave on structures in the game).

Want a sneaky peak at a bunch of new skins for Fortnite Season 4? There's also a new game mode coming off the tails of the comet known as "Impact." While the loot is all cosmetic, they definitely reward paying players with more items and things to do in the game. If you bought the Battle Pass for Season 3, you'll have a 10-star head start on the rest of the bodies flying out of the back of the Battle Bus.

Tilted Towers stands intact in Season 4. The game's "Blockbuster Event", dubbed "Origin Story", has you investigating the comet with the help of the characters Spitfire and Lok, and when you kill enemies in the mode, they'll have a chance to drop loot as well as crafting resources and ammunition.

Other areas of the map have been affected as well, with smaller craters to discover in areas that weren't completely flattened by the comet.

With Season 4 underway for Fortnite: Battle Royale players have begun chasing down new challenges to complete their Battle Pass.

But they need wonder no longer, as Fortnite Season 4 is now live!

Fortnite's Save the World campaign is still in paid early access with a supposed launch later this year, eventually the whole game will go free-to-play. Perhaps the biggest change (aside from what's different about the map, at least) is that the Crossbow has been put into the vault, so if you've become proficient with that weapon, you're going to have to go without while Epic tweaks it behind the scenes. Those that reach Tier 100 in Season 4 will earn the Omega skin.

Major changes to Fortnite: Battle Royale with the start of Season 4 includes changes to how headshots are registered.
