The Pittsburgh Steelers will try to add some defensive depth over the final four rounds of the National Football League draft.

Oklahoma State Cowboys wide receiver James Washington (WO39) speaks with media during the NFL Combine at the Indianapolis Convention Center.

Now, the former Northwestern High quarterback and Oklahoma State star will get an opportunity to play at the highest level. The Steelers will have three picks including two picks in the fifth round. Allen is a highly experienced player who does remind of former Steelers safety Mike Mitchell.

The question is: How long will it take for Mason Rudolph to receive his first start with the Pittsburgh Steelers?

"To go on to the next chapter with one of your brothers and the best receiver you've spent your whole college days with and maybe spend 15 years with", Rudolph said, "it's awesome". He rewrote the school's record books - over 13,000 passing yards, 92 touchdowns and just 26 interceptions - and won a slew of awards his senior season, including the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

Washington and Rudolph have played before on Heinz Field, their future home. However, Pittsburgh made waves earlier in the night with the announcement of the trade of wide receiver Martavis Bryant to the Oakland Raiders for a third-round pick.

The Steelers wrapped up day 2 by bolstering their offensive line selecting tackle Chukwuma Okorafor from Western Michigan.

On the other side of the line, the Steelers return left tackle Alejandro Villanueva, a U.S. Military Academy graduate who in 2017 became the first service academy alum to make the NFL Pro Bowl.
