Trump, who turned 48 last month, had been experiencing a recurring issue with her kidney that her office describes as benign.

In a live broadcast speech later at the annual Peace Officers Memorial Service on Capitol Hill, Trump said that her wife is watching the event on TV as he praised the medical staff at the military hospital where the first lady is staying.

They're not common but tend to occur in middle-aged women and can cause problematic bleeding if they become large enough, said Dr Keith Kowalczyk of MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

The President of the United States of America Donald trump after a visit to first lady Melania in the hospital spoke about the health of his wife. They have a 12-year-old son, Barron.

Embolization is most frequently used to cut off the flow of blood to a tumor or growth. Doctors do that with an embolization, meaning a catheter is snaked into the blood vessels of the kidney to find the right one and block it.

Trump's visit was not on the official White House schedule, but he made time for his wife as she recovers from a minor surgery on her kidney. Mrs. Trump also represented the administration at the April funeral of former first lady Barbara Bush. Trump also denies the allegations from Karen McDougal.
