Teacher shot dead after having sex with student

A teacher has been shot dead on Sunday a matter of months after she was suspended from her post for allegedly being caught by the police in a compromising position in a vehicle with a 17-year-old boy. The hail of as many as 10 bullets erupted as Rachael DelTondo stepped onto the driveway of her mother's Buchanan Street home.

"I counted six shots that I heard", said Fred Poore, a neighbor.

The death has stunned neighbors in the quiet neighborhood and police are hunting for clues to the identity of the killer.

According to Times Online, towards the end of previous year, DelTondo was suspended with pay from her teaching job at Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School after a police report alleging there had been an incident involving her and a former student came to light.

In the police report filed in February 2016, officers said they found DelTondo and the teenage boy in a steamed-up parked auto around 2 a.m., the Pittsburgh Gazette reported.

Authorities in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, said officers on patrol at around 1.50am on February 6, 2016 saw a auto parked up outside the old Aliquippa Hospital.

"It's shameful that this woman was painted with a police report that had been written that did not result in criminal charges", Lozier told the news station.

Inside was DelTondo and the teen. Hayden said the student did not attend the online public school.

Flirty texts and Snapchat messages later showed that the pair had a "relationship".

During the confrontation with officers, DelTondo reportedly told police that she and the teen were "friends" and that they were "just talking" because he was "upset".

Authorities said that it is unclear whether the incident with the teenager had anything to do with her murder.

No charges were brought against DelTondo over the incident, and police drove the teen home that evening.

Lozier told Newsweek that several agencies, including investigators with his office, Aliquippa Police and Pennsylvania State Police, are investigating.

Deltondo was later suspended by the school after the police report was leaked to local media. "We express our sympathy to her family and coworkers and will support them in any way possible in the weeks and months ahead as they mourn her passing".

That information led to a suspension from her teaching job at Pa. Cyber.

Though known in local media outlets for her dispute with her wedding dress designer, Rachael DelTondo was once a teacher. "Prime of her life, and this is what happens", neighbour Philomena Rossi told CBS News. They called off the wedding after the affair.

DelTondo subsequently spoke with The Beaver Countian in December 2017, and said the relationship was merely a friendship.
