LeBron James Is Headed To His 8TH STRAIGHT NBA Finals

Posted May 28, 2018

What's insane is that James' 46 minutes Friday night aren't even the most he's played this postseason.

So far, Boston is 5-1 in games decided by six or less points. And any talk about James' future is on hold.

"That being said, you've got to be able to win in any venue on any night". We had to play 'Bron as many minutes as he had to. He delivered. He was up for the challenge. He'll now head to the NBA Finals for an incredible eighth straight season. Boston's play at home should give them the confidence to win against any opponent at TD Garden, even a player who thrives in elimination games. LeBron James outscored Cleveland's starters 26-24 and the supporting cast lost their vigor from Games 3 and 4.

"I just enjoy playing in the big moments, in the big games", Tatum said after the game (ESPN). Jaylen Brown and Terry Rozier have scored 30 of the Celtics' 43 points, but Boston just isn't playing with the same energy it usually brings at home.

Boston had taken the early advantage, leading 25-20 by the end of the first quarter, but the Cavs made a tremendous fightback, a James three-pointer eight minutes into the second giving Cleveland their first lead of the night.

"(Playoffs are) all about the fight; all about the toughness", said Nance Jr. It's something you can't really explain what he's doing night in, night out. In the three games in Cleveland, Hill averaged 15.3 points on 53 percent shooting.

Boston won its three games at home and the Cavs proved to be unbeatable in Cleveland. "You get on the road and you're just out there against everybody else". "But it must've gotten to him because he got up and he did his little whatever you want to call it". He said he'd like to be able to get a minute or two off each quarter.

Cleveland received strong contributions from George Hill (20 points), Jeff Green (14 points) and Larry Nance Jr. "Until we're dead in our grave", Lue said, "it's not over".

It was a lot of James, but not All-James, All-The-Time.

James has been in the finals every year since 2011 - four with Miami, and now four straight with Cleveland. "But to have him on our side, it kind of lets me take a deep breath of fresh air".

Just when you thought LeBron James couldn't impress you again, he did just that. "It's just something special". "I'm all about team, I'm all about winning". He played 46:06, sitting out the last 57 seconds of the third quarter because he needed a rest and the last 57 seconds of the fourth because the game was over.

And, of course, he left in 2010.

For now, he's only going to Boston. Tatum's 351 points this post-season was one short of Abdul-Jabbar's record of 352. They outrebounded the Cavaliers, 45-39, and were more careful with the ball.

As Love stayed down, the Cavs huddled around him. Love's status for the decider is uncertain.

"The sky's the limit" for Tatum, Brown said. "I have a knot on the back of my head and he didn't return".

Blocked Shots: 2 (Horford, Smart). The Celtics were 10-0 in the playoffs at home in 1986. Dropped to 1-4 in Game 6s over the last four postseasons.

Boston has done extremely well under coach Brad Stevens. A pair of off-balance, step-back three-pointers going to his left-a move that's not-so-quietly become his signature, iced the game. James has scored at least 40 in five of those wins. The King has been dominant in elimination games throughout his career, but this one may have been one of his most impressive. Only Michael Jordan (109) has more.
