Transfer: David Luiz finally takes decision on Chelsea future

New Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is edging ever closer to completing his second major signing of this summer's transfer window by bringing Juventus defender Daniele Rugani to the club for £40m on a five-year contract. When asked how he feels physically now, the Brazilian smiled and replied: "I had a lot of time to take care of me, so now I'm 100 percent".

And Blues defender Azpilicueta has insisted that he has been happy to work under the new man in charge at Stamford Bridge ahead of next season.

'I came back to Chelsea to stay here, ' said Luiz, who is contracted until 2019 following his move from Paris-Saint Germain two years ago.

On Sarri's philosophy, Luiz claimed, "I love this philosophy". We play high, with a lot of possession in a technical way. He's trying to help us every single day to learn quickly his philosophy, to do our best for Chelsea. "We are trying to learn quickly".

Since Maurizio Sarri took over from Antonio Conte at Chelsea, the club have been linked with Gonzalo Higuaín. But it also depends on us. We're doing that every single day. But it also depends on us. "He's humble, he has his feet on the ground, he tries to learn every day", Luiz continued. Chelsea secured a 1-0 win over Perth Glory in Australia last week and drew 1-1 with Inter Milan in Nice on Saturday.

After two years with Conte's 3-4-3, Chelsea are expected to play with a 4-3-3, a formation that Sarri utilised to great effect with Napoli for the past three seasons.

Chelsea FC won the Premier League title in Conte's first season in charge at the club but struggled to find consistent form last term in the top flight.

"I have played with many players, different age, different times of life, so it is great to a player like him here".
