OnePlus 6T teaser shows all-screen design, in-display fingerprint sensor

Posted October 03, 2018

OnePlus, the premium flagship smartphone maker from China is all set for the launch of the OnePlus 6T, which is apparently to go live on the 17th of October 2018.

The renders have come from Roland Quandt over at who has gotten his hands on renders of the phone in Midnight Black and Mirror Black - technically the same colour, just in two different finishes.

Lau also confirmed that the OnePlus 6T won't have wireless charging. Unlike it rumoured earlier, the OnePlus 6T will have only dual camera setup on the rear side. This is perhaps one of the most crucial changes which the OnePlus 6T comes with.

There will probably be a lot to like about the OnePlus 6T, but in an interview, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has revealed a number of things that potential buyers probably won't be happy about. A new leak has now revealed that the upcoming Android flagship will come with seven various different accessories, including two that confirm the smartphone will ship without a headphone jack. The 6T moniker is speculated to house a 3700 mAh Li-ion battery, compared to the 3500 mAh battery on the OnePlus 6.

Some specs for the 6T have already been revealed - besides the in-display fingerprint sensor, we know that the phone will (sadly) have no headphone jack, for example. If you look closely, it looks slightly different from OnePlus 6 with a slimmer design and flatter look and feel to it.

The OnePlus 6T is now expected to launch on 17th October, which means we won't have long to see all this in action - and find out the price.

Given that Lau touched on the phone's only features that OnePlus could reasonably change from OnePlus 6, including the fingerprint sensor, headphone jack, battery charging, and IP rating, we now know nearly everything there is to know about the upcoming OnePlus 6T.

Apart from the changes mentioned above, the OnePlus 6T is also reported to get a new screen format, with a tiny notch on top.

As you can see we can also view the teardrop notch in the 6.28-inch 2280×1080 resolution AMOLED display.
