Raiders' Carr has 'fractured relationship' with teammates

A number of Oakland Raiders players are unhappy with the way coach Jon Gruden handled this week's blockbuster trade of star receiver Amari Cooper, according to a report by The Athletic.

"You have to wonder if we haven't been playing for draft picks all along", one player said.

Oakland is 1-5 and riding a two-game losing streak off its Week 7 bye. And with the National Football League trade deadline quickly approaching, some players are beginning to wonder if they'll remain a Raider much longer.

The New York Giants and Jacksonville Jaguars stand out as teams who could have some interest in Carr, and Gruden did suggest the Raiders weren't shopping Cooper before the Cowboys apparently upped the ante. "Despite everything the coaches told us at training camp".

Not referring to Carr by his name might be the first clue to a bit of indifference, and Gruden may essentially be saying to other teams, "make your best offer, and I just might take it". I believe their first concern will be to try and get something done with Lawrence and Byron Jones this coming offseason. Smith said that approach could be a "learning opportunity" for the team. Guys don't work their ass off year-round because they are anxious about the team being good in two or three years, they work hard to win. Now.

If Khalil Mack can be traded, and if Amari Cooper can be traded, then anybody could be traded at any point in time. How could you be? They are now loaded with five first-round draft picks over the next two years - but it's cost them this season. They witnessed him explain on the sidelines.

Gruden was expected to address the Cooper trade with the team on Wednesday, after Tuesday's day off.

Darren Carr's tweet was in response to a Pro Football Talk tweet about a story by The Athletic, which reported that Derek Carr has a "fractured relationship" with his Raiders teammates.
