India set WI 322 for win , Kohli crosses 10,000-run mark

Virat Kohli registered 1000 plus runs in the 2018 in just 11 ODIs thus making him the quickest to the landmark. With this, Kohli became the fifth Indian batsman and the 13 player in the world to achieve the milestone of 10,000 ODI runs. He has achieved the feat five times in the format already in the past in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2017. The record is now held by Kohli, who took just 114 innings to get there.

Also, during the course of his unbeaten innings, Kohli became the fastest batsman to score 10,000 runs in ODIby breaking the record of Sachin Tendulkar. The only Indian with the maximum sixes in ODI is none other than MS Dhoni who sits 4th on the list with 271 sixes, just one behind Sri Lankan batting icon Sanath Jayasuriya.

Earlier, India had thumped the West Indies comprehensively in the Test series, registering a 2-0 win over the visitors.

2nd ODI starts at 1:30 PM IST on October 21, Sunday at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vishakhapatnam.
