Apple Updates MacBook Air with Retina Display

The new Macbook Air will hit the shelves next week. The display has over 4 million pixels, which should make text and images more detailed.

We're less than two months removed from Apple's big September iPhone XS reveal event, but the company just can't stay away as it kicks off yet another press event on Tuesday morning.

Apple also introduced a new Mac mini, its traditionally low-priced desktop computer that comes without a screen, keyboard, or mouse. There are two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 ports on the left side of the all-new MacBook Air, which will give it power, USB, Thunderbolt connectivity, HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, and eGPU connectivity, depending upon the type of accessory connected at the end.

The new MacBook Air comes in Gold, Space Grey and Silver colour options.

At first glance, the new MacBook Air doesn't look wholly different from its previous iteration. The device will also come with Touch ID that is embedded in the keyboard.

What's more, the computer is a bit of win for Apple's green credentials - the company says each one is made from 100% recycled aluminium.

Apple lifted the lid on a new MacBook Air model after years of fans crying out for an upgrade. That base level configuration starts at $1,199. MacBook batteries tend to perform very well, but we'll still need to get our hands on it to properly test that statement out for ourselves.
