Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli chased the target in just 14.5 overs despite the dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan early on.

It was a ideal scenario for the aggressive wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant as he had ample time in the middle to play a match-winning knock and justify his inclusion in the side. The left-armer is familiar with the conditions at the Eden Gardens, having played all his IPL cricket for the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Manish Pandey looked solid during his stay at the crease and looked set to take India home alongside Karthik but ended up dismissed by debutant Khary Pierre.

All-rounder Krunal Pandya, who has been consistent in IPL over the years, is in the squad and is likely to make his worldwide debut today if India decide to go in with a third spinner.

Besides leading India to their maiden and only T20 World Cup triumph in 2007, Dhoni is also the most capped player in the shortest format, featuring in 93 of India's 104 matches. Also, the match will be telecast live in HD format as well! The India-West Indies live streaming will take place on Hotstar.

Carlos Brathwaite has been tasked with the responsibility of helping West Indies finish the year on a high.

Down with a "gastric complaint", Bhuvneshwar Kumar pulled out in the last minute despite being named in the XII, but his absence was hardly felt with Yadav and debutant and Khaleel doing a fine job. The latter has only two wins to its credit while one match was abandoned.

Coming to the T20 games, India will start as favourites after cantering to a 3-1 ODI series win and two test victories prior to that.

Star all-rounder Andre Russell was forced to skip the West Indies team's practice session on the eve of their first T20I against India after missing a connecting flight from Dubai.

The left-armer finished with figures of 3-13, including the key wicket of Windies skipper Carlos Brathwaite, as the visitors were restricted to a modest total of 109-8. Hosts India have been dominating them since the start of the series in October.

The Indian team has been on a roll at home for quite some time and against a weakened Windies have looked invincible for most parts of the series.
