Far Cry New Dawn Looks Like a Far Cry 5 Sequel

Posted December 10, 2018

Ubisoft announced their latest Far Cry game called Far Cry: New Dawn at The Game Awards.

At the end of a fresh new Devil May Cry 5 trailer, where we got treated to the first proper look at gameplay with the new character, V, Capcom also prepared a special surprise for those who stuck around.

Far Cry: New Dawn comes out on February 15, and is available for pre-purchase on Steam and the Ubisoft Store for $40/£38/€45.

Ubisoft describes Far Cry New Dawn thus: "Set seventeen years after a global nuclear catastrophe, Far Cry New Dawn brings players into a wildly lovely and radically transformed Hope County, Montana".

"Far Cry New Dawn" takes the "Far Cry 5" environment and puts it - and its survivors - through a post-apocalyptic wringer. Judging from the Far Cry series history of featuring the villain on the cover, it looks like the player will face off against the two ladies seen here. Join fellow survivors and lead the fight against the risky new threat the Highwaymen, and their ruthless leaders The Twins, as they seek to take over the last remaining resources.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal with support from Ubisoft Shanghai, Ubisoft Kiev and Ubisoft Bucharest, Far Cry New Dawn is a first-person shooter set in a completely open world.

Nature has restated its claim over Hope County, smothering the remains of this once-tranquil world scorched by nuclear bombs. There is just a lot more overgrowth and the locals are a lot more violent. Especially since it is set in the same place as Far Cry 5.

The leak was on the Far Cry subreddit by user HereComeDatAlt. Plus there's also a dog that'll ride in the vehicle with you.

At the abandoned theme park, we've got one of several new Guns for Hire along for the ride. As you did with the resistance in Far Cry 5, you will need to acquire and battle for resources to increase the strength of your allies. The game closes with the player character - presumably tied up - looking at Seed as he revels in the destruction he had predicted.
