US singer Chris Brown arrested in Paris on suspicion of rape

Two other people are in custody, including Brown's bodyguard, officials said.

Singer Chris Brown and two associates were detained in Paris on Monday after a woman filed a complaint accusing the entertainer of rape, according to a report by the Associated Press. "I am not the person who said that Chris Brown raped them".

Authorities arrived at the hotel on Monday and arrested Brown, who shared videos of himself in Paris for Fashion Week a day after the alleged rape took place.

The woman is also said to have accused Brown's bodyguard and another friend of the singer of abusing her.

The woman whose name has been withheld claimed she and the artiste met at Le Crystal club after which the two proceeded to his hotel room.

The singer is accused of sexually assaulting a 24-year-old woman in his hotel room in Paris last week.

"We confirm the detention in custody of Mr. Chris Brown and two other individuals on charges of aggravated rape and narcotics offenses".

"This b-- lyin', " Brown wrote in an Instagram post. It was also described as "brutal and violent", Closer magazine reported, claiming to have interviewed the alleged victim.

Brown has faced multiple run-ins with the law in recent years. The singer pleaded guilty to felony assault in the case and completed probation in 2015.

In July of 2018, the father of one was once again arrested after a concert in Florida for punching a man back in April.

Additionally, in 2013, he was charged with a misdemeanor assault against a man, and subsequently was kicked out of the rehab he was legally forced to attend.

In 2016, Brown was arrested in Los Angeles after a woman said he had pointed a gun at her.
