Posted February 02, 2019

"Our teams have identified the cause for our earlier issues and are continuing to address these now", Xbox Support tweeted.

And this is a serious outage, the company's status page is barely functioning and only says that some games and services are having issues.

Meanwhile, Xbox hardware sales actually declined year-over-year by 19 percent, which Microsoft chalks up to the launch of its more powerful Xbox One X console during this same quarter last year.

Ithas been noted by Microsoft, who have updated customers on Twitter on the Xbox Support page.

While outages occur fairly regularly on both Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, this error was particularly bad as it completely prevented people from playing their games - both online and offline.

Microsoft is aware of the situation and has promised to give more information when they have it. "Thank you for your patience, we'll update again when we know of any other changes".

Fortunately, the issues appear to be tied to the Xbox Live software and not hardware related.
