Former Chiefs Tony Gonzalez, Johnny Robinson punch Hall of Fame tickets

Four defensive backs - Ed Reed, Champ Bailey, Ty Law and seniors finalist Johnny Robinson - were among the eight men selected for enshrinement by the Hall's board of selectors on Saturday at the Georgia World Congress Center.

Faneca had been a finalist for the third straight year, but the road for an interior offensive lineman isn't an easy one.

Law played for New England for 10 years before joining the Kansas City Chiefs, the New York Jets and the Denver Broncos.

Gonzalez spent 12 years with the Kansas City Chiefs and his final five seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. He finished his career with 64 interceptions and 1,590 interception return yards. He had 57 career interceptions as he made six AFL All-Star Games, and late in his career played in a Pro Bowl and was All-NFL in 1970. "Those three players combined for 35 Pro Bowl selections as well as 14 first-team All-Pro nods".

James also has recorded the most seasons in franchise history with at least 1,000 rushing yards as he's done it five times. He became the second player in NFL history to lead the league in interceptions three times, in 2004, 2008 and 2010.

Bailey played five years in Washington and 10 in Denver over his 15-year National Football League career. The team still needs an assistant defensive backs coach. During that 20-year span, Dallas won 13 division titles, six conference championships and two Super Bowls (VI and XII).

Mawae, a second-round draft pick in 1994, played 16 seasons for the Seahawks, Jets and Titans. He started for the Patriots in three Super Bowls all told, winning two. He was one of the studs on Bill Parcells' Jets teams and he helped to block for an absurd seven 1,000-yard rushers during his eight seasons with NY. A pioneer of scouting, Brandt is best known for his time as vice president of player personnel with the Cowboys, helping form a dynasty in the 1970s.
