Lady Gaga, Dolly Parton and Alicia Keys, oh my!

Red carpet arrivals and interviews will be broadcast live starting at 2 p.m. PT. As far as performers go, fans of Ariana Grande might be disappointed to learn that she dropped out of the ceremony.

"I know i'm not there tonight (trust, i tried and still truly wished it had worked out tbh) and i know i said i try not to put too much weight into these things. but (expletive). this is wild and handsome. thank you so much", she tweeted after learning about her win. Christian singer Lauren Daigle also won Grammys. In 1989, Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff boycotted the show after they learned that the presentation of the best rap performance award wouldn't be televised, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

On Sunday, 15-time Grammy victor Alicia Keys will emcee music's biggest night, while Cardi B, Camila Cabello, and Shawn Mendes take the stage. Before the telecast even started, Carlile won three GRAMMYs in a row, one for Best Americana Album for By the Way, I Forgive You, Best American Roots Song for "The Joke" and Best American Roots Performance also for "The Joke". Beck's 2017 album, Colors, beat out Arctic Monkeys'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, St. Vincent's MASSEDUCTION, Bjork's Utopia, and David Byrne's American Utopia for the award.

Late night host James Corden, the host of the 2017 and 2018 Grammys, will be getting a rest this year, as 15-time Grammy Award victor Alicia Keys will be hosting.

"When they don't take home the big prize", he said, "the regard of the academy, and what the Grammys represent, continues to be less meaningful to the hip-hop community, which is sad". That's in contrast to last year's ceremony, where male acts dominated in nominations and the only woman competing for the top award, Lorde, didn't get a chance to perform onstage.

Lady Gaga scooped up five nominations including for both Record and Song of the Year for her heart-pounding hit "Shallow", which she performed in the film "A Star Is Born" with co-star Bradley Cooper.

"This is going to be a special Grammys".

Monae's "Dirty Computer" is one of five albums by women nominated for the top prize at Sunday's show. He's being recognized for his work on the soundtrack of Marvel's "Black Panther", including his single "All the Stars" with SZA. This year, 15 women are nominated in the big four categories, including Gaga, Chloe x Halle, Carlile, Janelle Monae, and Cardi B.

"This is just the beginning of moving to a more inclusive future", Monae said.
