The words on the billboard also state, "World's First Foldable 5G Phone".

On Thursday Samsung unveiled a foldable smart phone, aimed at the high spending early adopter market.

Still no confirmed tech specs or features yet but previous leaks indicate that it will have a Kirin 980 chipset, a 5-inch display when folded, an 8-inch display when unfolded and be able to utilize 5G networks.

The Huawei Mate X's price is not known at the moment, but the company is expected to announce details around price and availability during the event. Huawei's pre-MWC event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm IST for Indian viewers.

Others in the race are Huawei, who is said to release its foldable phone this year, and Lenovo, who started creating its prototype. With a brand design, a punch through display and a Snapdragon 855, the phone is firmly set to compete against the existing juggernauts, namely the Apple iPhone Xs and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

The possible Mate X does not incorporate an external and internal display, with the associated complicated software transition that requires, but instead has the display on the outside that folds behind itself.
