But hearing the allegations directly from the mouths of the accusers is a different story, and only time will tell what impact the two-part series will have on Michael Jackson's legacy.

In the film, Robson explains how he first became friends with Jackson, who was in his mid-30s, after meeting him when he won a dance competition at the age of 5.

The controversial Michael Jackson documentary Leaving Neverland has aired in the United States, with details from it being discussed online ahead of its UK TV debut later this week. It was there that Jackson is alleged to have abused Safechuck and Robson, on separate occasions.

Celebrity talk show host Oprah Winfrey waded into the Michael Jackson debate Monday, hosting an hour-long interview of the men who say the late superstar sexually abused them as minors. "It had a recording studio so we went in there, and I think we saw his brothers and said hi". Michael was a god to me.

Many detractors point to the men's previous defense of Jackson in court cases and their public denial of abuse in the past.

'Certainly Michael had many more victims, ' Reed told AFP.

Jordan Chandler reportedly has never come forward about the allegations and supposedly lives outside of the country.

Recalling the beginnings of his physical relationship with Jackson, Safechuck recalled having sex with Jackson "every day" that he was with him at the ranch. Just a few months later however, Safechuck says he was being abused by the star - but says he still feels come guilt.

"Meanwhile, Safechuck also said that Jackson would make him practice getting dressed quickly so they wouldn't get caught engaging in sexual acts, saying, "[Jackson would] run drills with me, where we'd be in the hotel room and he would pretend like somebody is coming in and you had to get dressed as fast as possible without making noise".

However Robson's claims also spoke about the warnings he received from Jackson during their time together.

Another aspect of the grooming and manipulation Jackson allegedly exercised toward Safechuck involved a faux wedding between the singer and the young boy - complete with a ceremony and an exchanging of rings, as discussed in Leaving Neverland - that Safechuck said was a way for Jackson to maintain his influence over him.
