Check your smoke detectors as Daylight Saving Time kicks in

This weekend people across the United States will lose an hour of sleep when the clocks jump forward an hour for daylight saving time.

"Daylight saving time makes it easier for folks to do stuff around the farm, particularly with another hour in the evening".

Time to abide by the adage to spring forward (though it's not yet spring). Earlier school start times are linked to depression and anxiety in teenagers, as well as chronic sleep deprivation.

"There's not a huge change in activity, other than with the time change people are obviously getting up a little bit earlier and they're looking to get done a little earlier, so the playground becomes a little more used, and we see more people walking the loop outside", she said.

Even though that second cup of coffee may seem tempting, doctors advise you to avoid overdoing it on caffeine over the next few days as your body adjust to its new sleep rhythm. Although Franklin may be credited with the idea of Daylight saving time, he actually only proposed a change in sleep schedules, not changing time itself. Lawmakers representing farmers introduced almost two dozen bills to repeal it; one MS congressman urged, "Repeal the law and have the clocks proclaim God's time and tell the truth!"
