Conor McGregor arrested in Miami on robbery, criminal mischief charges

Conor McGregor, 30, was taken into custody in Miami Beach, Florida on Monday, online records show.

Miami police arrested UFC star Conor McGregor Monday evening after he allegedly stole and smashed a fan's phone outside a Miami Beach hotel, the Miami Herald reports. Police say McGregor slapped the phone out of the man's hand and then stomped on it several times.

Irish mixed martial arts megastar Conor McGregor was arrested in Miami Beach today for allegedly smashing someone's phone at the Fontainebleau resort.

McGregor was reportedly spending time in Miami as he prepared for his return to the UFC. The phone was valued at over $1,000, which is noted in the criminal mischief charge where property damage exceeds $1,000.

McGregor, a former UFC lightweight champion, is both one of the most decorated and controversial fighters in the sport's history.

McGregor only completed the community service days ago and once again finds himself in trouble with the law. TMZ reported McGregor and his family were in Miami to celebrate his mother's birthday. "This is the most disgusting thing that has ever happened in the history of this company".

Last April, McGregor was involved in an incident backstage at UFC weigh-ins when he attacked a van carrying fighters and officials.

McGregor went on to plead guilty to disorderly conduct and, in addition to the community service, was forced to attend three days of anger management courses.
